Working out and taxes both have serious consequences if they are ignored. With taxes, you can focus on them only once a year, but working out is a whole different story. The ramifications of not working out might show up slower, but in the long run, neglecting your workouts results in a much higher price to pay.

It comes once a year and it always seems to get put off until the last minute. You swear that you will never do it again, but alas, it is the last minute tax crunch. Unfortunately, working out is not like taxes. It is not something that you can get away with cramming in at the last minute and only focus on once a year.

Sporadic workouts done with great intensity are a sure way to land you with an injury, not to mention mediocre health and fitness. So what is the solution?

A better work out program?
Plyometrics and periodic training?
Better exercise equipment?
Personal Trainer?

All of those things can help, but the key is consistency. No matter how great your plan, club, training, etc, is; it is quickly undermined by inconsistency. One month of working out, followed by eleven months of sitting on your butt, spells disaster.

The first key to being consistent is enjoying the process. Now enjoying doing your taxes is a stretch, but enjoying working out is possible. If you want the results working out can bring you, it is going to have to become a habit like brushing your teeth. You don’t have to love doing it, but you better make sure you don’t hate it.

The first step to turn working out into a habit is realizing that working out needs to be habit. It’s not just an inconvenience you push through to finally allow you to fit into those one size smaller jeans.

To be healthy and to keep your body running smoothly, you are going to have to maintain some type of consistent workout plan and the good news is that you get to choose the plan. Knowing that working out is something you need to be doing the rest of your life, why not make it enjoyable?

There is also a very powerful physiological effect that happens when you turn working out into a habit. By committing to the new healthier lifestyle, you start to remove internal sabotage. If you are fighting to get to the gym, doing a work out you hate, just to lose weight or get to a fitness level, there will always be a voice of doubt in your head. Everyday you will have to fight that voice and it will eventually win.

By committing to working out consistently, the voice of doubt eventually disappears. No longer are you on a mad push to get to that perfect fitness goal. You are committed to working out and enjoying the process which eventually also brings you that fitness goal.

All of a sudden, not working out will feel funny. You will crave the consistency of taking the steps that makes your body feel great. No longer will working out be a “have to”, it will become a “get to.”
The act of following a consistent workout plan will become the habit and the target of that plan, will be the goal you are striving for. Whether you achieve your goal, have a set back, or decide on a different goal, your underlying motivation of consistently following a workout plan will never change. This allows consistently working out to become a habit, even though, the specifics of what you do, changes.

You have to work out consistently to keep you body running at its best and you have to do taxes. You might not like taxes, but if you make working out a habit you enjoy, you will end up keeping it the rest of your life.

There are five main factors that contribute to overall sperm quality. They include sperm motility, speed, count, concentration and morphology (shape and size).

A weakness in any of these areas can affect the chances of conception.

Motility
Sperm motility is a term that describes sperm’s ability to move in an active fashion: in other words, are the sperm “strong swimmers?” In healthy sperm, typically more than 50% are active with over 25% moving forcefully in one direction. Motility enables the sperm to travel through the cervical canal, into the uterus and the fallopian tubes and, finally, to penetrate the egg.

Speed
The forward movement of sperm called progressive motility, forward progression or rapid linear progression. There are also several different ways to classify forward movement.

According to the World Health Organization (1999), in a healthy male, greater than 25% of sperm will exhibit progressive motility. It is thought that these are the sperm with the best chance of successfully fertilizing an egg. Rapid linear progression showed a greater than 60 % improvement after four months of treatment with acupuncture, herbal medicine and supplements.

Sperm Count
Sperm count refers to the number of sperm in the fluid that is ejaculated (semen). There are over 40 million sperm in a normal ejaculate. A total count below 40 million may indicate decreased fertility.

My dad’s only sibling died of lung cancer.

My mom died of a brain tumor-she used to be a heavy smoker.

My dad got lung cancer.

After he got lung cancer he visited me; he was a pathetic skin over bones man now, wearing a corduroy suit, BUT STILL SMOKING IN MY GARAGE.

My brother’s wife has breast cancer; my brother still smokes cigars.

I started having coughing spells at night and the vision in my left eye was deteriorating.

Me quitting smoking? Impossible- I have no willpower.

Because I knew I could not quit I never even bothered to buy Nicorette or any other stuff.

So after a whole lifetime of smoking I was going to die of lung cancer too.

BUT WAIT: the story is not finished yet.

On September 4, 2002 I was in Calgary browsing in a bookstore called Brown and Noble and a book jumped out at me.

The book was called “How to stop smoking” and had 385 pages in it.

I glanced at the first couple of pages where the author boasted that this book was the only way to quit smoking without any withdrawal symptoms or without the Patch.

I bought the book because I was curious as to what you could write 385 pages about how to quit smoking.

It took me 9 days to read the book.

On September 13, 2002 at 3 PM I took my last drag and exhaled it through a Kleenex.

That was my last cigarette. I have never even thought about smoking. People can smoke around me and I don’t give it a thought.

The book changes your Mindset.

The book is called “How to stop smoking” by Allan Carr, a British Accountant and is not available in the United States.

I no longer cough at night and the vision in my left eye is fine now.
