hydrocodone, buy hydrocodone, pain medicine,

As a chronic pain sufferer myself, being diagnosed with a herniated disc in my lower back, along with bone disc degenerative disease, I have learned a lot about how chronic pain is treated, or I should say undertreated. It’s a sad fact for a variety of reasons, that chronic pain goes grossly undertreated. Too many americans are needlessly suffering in pain. After years and years of of my pain going undertreated, I have learned a few things that I would like to share.

First of all, theres a stigma associated with patients seeking treatment for chronic pain. Physicians are hesitant about what kind of treatment is best. From physical therapy, bio-feedback, muscle relaxers, steroids, anti-inflammatory, over the counter medications, to narcotic pain medication. Particular when using narcotic pain medication, it seems physicians do whats best in the interests for themselves, not whats in the best interest of the patient. This has occured due to government regulations, narcotic abuse, diversion, patient addiction & physicians who just dont understand pain.

Obviously if someone dont have a diagnosis of chronic pain, and other treatment is better suited, that should be the course of action. But on the other hand, if every other treatment has been tried, chronic pain sufferers should have every right to narcotic pain medicine. Before I found a physician who finally understood my pain, I felt like a drug addict, I felt like I was disbelieved by the medical community when I told them I was in pain. Pain sufferers are discriminated against tremendously. I am dedicated to informing as many as possible that people are truly suffering in pain needlessly, and dedicated to helping those who suffer.

Detox Your Body And Build Your Immune System With Diet, Herbs And Supplements

Detoxing is a natural process your body goes through that gets rid of debris known as toxins. Under normal conditions our bodies are designed to eliminate these toxins through the liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, skin etc.

There are many reasons why detoxing is so important in this day and age. There is the problem of our chemical environment due to pollutants in our air and water supply plus the majority of our food is grown with pesticides in an effort to reduce insect and bacterial infestation in order to produce a higher yield. One only needs to go down any grocery aisle and read labels to realize just how many dyes and preservatives we eat on a daily basis.

If you take a step back in time (even only 30 to 40 years) you would realize how different we ate back then. If you didn’t grow your own organic food you would probably have gone to your butcher on a daily basis and purchased fresh hormone free meat and then would have gone to the market to purchase fresh organic produce. The word organic was probably not something you would have associated with food back then.

The very air we breath constantly is somewhat polluted. We drink high fructose drinks, lots of canned goods and an incredible amount of sodium. I’m not saying never to eat this way because we all like to indulge now and again but if you eat a normal American diet high in salt, sugar and preservatives and canned goods, then you may be doing a disservice to your self because you may feel full but be severely lacking in nutrients.

There are various things you can do to undo toxicity. Liver and kidney cleanses are great but if you are not inclined to do these then there are other solutions such as taking a hot bath for a half hour or sweat out toxins in a sauna. If you do, then make sure you have eaten well and drink as many as 8 glasses of water so your blood sugar does not drop and that you stay well hydrated. Not only do you lose toxins this way but you also lose water, salt and potassium that can make you feel light headed.

There are some great herbal teas that you can drink on a regular basis that also gently cleanse the body, hydrates you, has antioxidant properties and help flush out toxins. It is a warm and refreshing way to relax and do the body good.

Juicing fruits and vegetables is a fantastic way of getting more nutrients in the body because you are maintaining the integrity of the nutrients. If you are putting vegetables in a pot to boil, then you will have nutrient loss. This is called bleaching and all the goodness goes into the water. If you over cook food and then throw out the water, then your nutrients just went down the drain and you are ingesting the remaining bleached husk. Raw or juiced is the way to go!

Because we have nutrient deficient soil it is advisable to take supplements that bolster your immune system such as Q-10, Vitamins A, D, E, C and B vitamins. Trace minerals and electrolytes are necessary to keep our systems in shape. Avoid sport drinks that are high in sugar but instead get good quality electrolytes from a health food store. If nothing else, then at least get a good multi vitamin to take every day.

Some herbs that are great for detoxifying and building the immune system are garlic, ginger, alfalfa and chlorella. Garlic especially is a useful herb not only for detoxing but it helps to lower blood pressure, aids in circulation, protects against inflammation and assists in almost all major organs like the heart, lungs, kidneys etc. It is one of nature’s perfect foods. Chlorella is an edible green algae that also has just about everything you need such as protein, vitamins E, C and all the B vitamins, especially B12, beta carotene and trace minerals. It is an excellent blood cleanser and whole food. It doesn’t get much better than that! Most health food stores will carry all of these herbs.

It’s nearly impossible to be completely free of all pollutants in our environment but anything you can do to relieve your body of toxic build up and undernourishment should be beneficial to your health.

I hope this helps!

Drugs For Treating Aids May Prevent People From Catching Aids

AIDS, HIV/AIDS, condoms, AIDS drugs

In one of the most promising developments in more than 20 years, scientists claim that drugs used to control HIV/AIDS in patients may also be effective in preventing the disease in the first place.

The drugs in question are tenofovir (Viread) and emtricitabine, or FTC (Emtriva), sold in combination as Truvada by Gilead Sciences Inc. Gilead is the California company best known for inventing Tamiflu.

Previous research has been aimed at finding a vaccine against HIV/AIDS, with the intention of conditioning the immune system against the disease. But these drugs work differently. They simply keep the virus from reproducing, and have already been used successfuly by health care workers to prevent them from being infected by the virus carried by patients.

This approach to fighting HIV/AIDS has been tempting researchers for many years, but has only recently become feasible as preventative drugs have been developed that are safe for non-infected persons to take. Previous drugs had unreasonable effects for uninfected persons.

That situation changed when Tenofovir came on the market in 2001. Tenofovir is powerful and safe, and it only has to be taken once a day. It also does not interact with other medicines or birth control pills, and manifests less drug resistance than other AIDS medications.

** Monkey studies show exciting results

A major study by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) in Atlanta, Georgia involved six macaques. The monkeys were given a combination of Tenofovir and FTC and then administered a deadly combination of monkey and human AIDS viruses. They were given the viruses in rectal doses to simulate contact between gay men.

Each was given 14 weekly exposures of the virus, and none of the monkeys became infected. In a control group which did not receive the drugs, all but one got the disease, normally after just two exposures.

The scientists then stopped giving the drugs to the test group to see if the prevention was only temporary. The results were equally impressive. None of the monkeys contracted the disease. “We’re now four months following the animals with no drug, no virus. They’re uninfected and healthy,” reported a CDC researcher.

Now other research teams are pushing to have this drug combination tested on humans. A $29 million CDC study of drug users in Botswana will now be switched to this new drug combination.

Another study of 400 heterosexual women in Ghana by the Family Health Initiative, and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is studying the effects of tenofovir alone.

But several other studies have failed to materialize because studies of this nature immediately raise suspicions that scientists are using local people as guinea pigs. The fear is that they will intentionally expose the test subjects to the virus.

The cost of tenofovir and Truvada also make testing difficult. In African countries condoms are now liberally donated by companies, aid groups, UN agencies, and western governments. While the drugs are relatively cheap, the cost remains an impediment.

Nevertheless researchers have been reinvigorated by the stunning results out of Atlanta, and new tests are going ahead in pockets of interest around the world.

For many years since perhaps the dawn of mankind, our diets have always been rich in fruits and vegetables.

Man depended on nature for his source of food and man relied on nature to cure him of any disorders or illnesses.

Today, we still eat our fair share of fresh produce not just because doctors say they’re healthy but because they are said to prevent the onset of various illnesses.

Ever since the presence of free radicals in the body was linked to the onset of diseases, scientists and researchers have been trying to find out why people who had more fruits and vegetables in their diets were less vulnerable to illnesses that are said to be caused by harmful free radicals.

Their hard work and labor finally paid off when they discovered the presence of beneficial, disease-fighting substances found in most fruits and vegetables.

Antioxidant Tablets: Neutralizing Free Radicals

One group of plant chemicals that have been suggested as being beneficial are the antioxidants. These natural substances remove free radicals, those harmful chemicals produced during the process of oxidation in the body.

Free radicals can damage the DNA in the cell’s nucleus and this might lead to cancer formation. Now that we know how beneficial antioxidants can be, the focus of the study now is how to get as much antioxidants as a person possibly can in order to prevent the onset of diseases.

Unfortunately, scientists have found that human beings are one of the few animal species that are unable to produce their own antioxidant content. As a result, they would have to depend much on their diets for their source of antioxidants. Antioxidants are found in vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and cabbage. They can also be found in fruits such as cranberries, blueberries, blackberries, apples, citrus fruits, and the like.

Antioxidant Tablets: A study

Clinical trials are underway in a number of countries to see whether giving supplements in antioxidant tablets in the diet might help increase the benefits of these helpful substances.
In one of the many studies aiming to come up with effective, disease-fighting antioxidant tablets, over 20,000 people between the ages of 40 to 80 were used.

These people were divided into two groups with one group receiving daily doses of three antioxidant tablets in the form of vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta-carotene. The other group on the other hand was merely given placebo tablets with no antioxidants. The study on antioxidant tablets lasted for a period of five years after which the results were tested and analyzed.

Although the study did not necessarily highlight the benefits of antioxidant tablets, it did however show that antioxidant tablets have no harmful side effects on the body.

Eczema And The Control Of This Skin Condition

Eczema is an inflammatory, chronic, noncontagious disease of the skin caused by allergy and hypersensitivity. The term is loosely used to include many skin conditions more properly included under dermatitis. Eczema is characterized by a number of cutaneous lesions, such as macules, papules, pustules, vesicles, scales, and crusts.

Macules are nonelevated skin spots. Papules are hard, circular, and elevated. Pustules are papular like lesions that contain pus, and vesicles are small skin blisters that contain fluid. Eczematous lesions are usually accompanied by an exudation of serous fluid and by intense itching. One-third to one-half of all cutaneous conditions are eczematous.

There is no known cure for eczema, but new treatments are helping people to manage, and even prevent flares, better than ever before. Treatment is most effective when people with eczema work closely with a physician, preferably a dermatologist, who will customize a treatment approach based on the person’s age, symptoms, and overall health. With the right treatment, most flares can be brought under control in less than three weeks.

In more severe cases of eczema, where other treatments have failed, systemic steroids may be used. Instead of applying the steroidal medication to the top of the skin, it is injected into the body, or taken in pill form. These medications should only be used for a short time.

Side effects can include skin damage, weakened bones, high blood sugar and/or blood pressure, infections, and cataracts. It is also dangerous to stop systemic corticosteroids abruptly, and patients must work closely with a doctor when changing doses or stopping treatment.

Antibiotics can be prescribed by a doctor to treat secondary infections associated with eczema. Medications used to fight infection can come in ointment or pill form and are taken for a set period of time.

Sedating antihistamines, which are best to take at bedtime, can help ease severe itching associated with eczema, and help restless sleepers and “scratchers” to sleep. The sedating antihistamines are more effective at relieving itching than the newer, non-sedating antihistamines, but these drugs cause drowsiness, and can affect an adult’s ability to work and think, and childrens’ ability to learn if taken during the day.

Phototherapy uses ultraviolet A or B light waves, and is reserved for children over 12 and adults. It is very much like a tanning bed, and, like tanning beds, can cause skin cancer if used too much, for too long. Doctors use the minimum exposure necessary to ease itching and reduce inflammation.

In severe cases of eczema that do not respond to any other treatment, an immunosuppressive drug, like cyclosporine, may be used for a short time although the safety and effectiveness of cyclosporin in children has not been clearly established by clinical trials. These drugs block the production of some of the body’s immune cells and curb the effect of others. They can provide relief from very serious eczema flares, but this improvement while on the drug often does not continue after the drug course is over. Side effects include hypertension and kidney problems, nausea, tingling or numbness, headaches, and a possible increase in cancer risk.

Keeping the skin happy and healthy is the first rule of good eczema care. This includes avoiding flare triggers, and sticking to a skin care routine that keeps the skin moisturized, and minimizes itchiness. Still, flares do happen. If inflammation cannot be reduced with good lifestyle and skin care habits alone, there are a wide variety of both over-the-counter and prescription medications available to manage the flares.

contact lenses

Rather than wearing glasses, many individuals opt for the use of contact lenses. Common problems associated with their use include irritation to the eyelid, the cornea and may even include tearing the film that covers the eye’s outer surface. The best way to lessen the likelihood of any of these conditions appearing is to avoid excessive wear of contact lenses, including overnight wear.

Many people choose to wear disposable contact lenses because they require no cleaning and do not carry the potential for bacteria presence, which is a common problem with reusable contact lenses. In an effort to prevent this occurrence, wearers must regularly clean and disinfect their contact lenses in order to maintain both a sanitary surface and clear vision.

Along with most prescriptions, an optometrist will provide advice on cleaning, wear time and maintenance. The reason is because some cleansers are to be used exclusively with certain types of contact lenses, which makes it very important that the wearer read the labeling on any solution prior to applying it to his/her contact lenses. One thing that all solutions have in common is that their container should remain closed while not being used.A number of individuals may be sensitive to certain ingredients, which are sometimes included in cleansers used on contact lenses. If an individual suspects that they must have any such sensitivity, they should inform their doctor in order to avoid possible complications.

Just as medication is prescribed individually, contact lenses are no different. Therefore, individuals should not share their lenses or use the lense of another wearer. As one may expect, this can cause serious damage and possible infection. In severe cases, the contact lenses may have to be professionally removed if they are inserted into the eye of anyone other than the intended wearer. Severe swelling, infection and eye damage are all possibilities of this action.

As a final thought to caring for contact lenses, wearers should wash their hands thoroughly prior to touching the lense or their eyes. The soap should be free of moisturizers or allergens, both of which may cause complications with contact lenses and sensitivity to the eye.

The information in this article is intended for informational purposes only. It should not be considered as, or used in place of, medical advice or professional recommendations for the intended use of contact lenses. If necessary, individuals should consult a optometrist or qualified physician for a proper fitting for contact lenses and additional information on their use and benefits.

Many people are having problems with their weight. These weight problems are the results of a person’s eating habits. In the United States, there are about 50 million of Americans are enroll weight loss programs. However, there are also people who wishes that they would have a lesser weight and resulted to suffering from eating disorders.

Eating disorders may be categorized as a psychiatric problem. Although many experts say that obesity is not truly a psychiatric problem, they consider that the state of being obese is also a form of eating disorders. Some people who are trying to lose weight may lead to the improper obsession of thinking of a person that his dieting becomes abnormal.

Another form of eating disorder is the anorexia nervosa. This form of eating disorder may happen to those people who may have a normal or a little above the average weight. These people think that their body is always overweight. This illness may begin to those who that have continuous diet regimens and eventually led to restraining the person’s balanced eating.

Anorexia nervosa can be identified to most women that are teenagers and are in their early adult stages. Although it is not common to males and to older adults, it can also occur to these types of people. The known classic dieters do not eat any food in a day which lead them to starvation. The self-starvation of a person is the point where he suppresses hunger sensations, which may lead an individual to become skeletal in appearance. These individuals are considered anorexic by type because they suffer from phobia on gaining weight.

Bulimia can be truly associated to many dieters especially to those individuals aged 17 to 25 years old. The process of bingeing and purging of most bulimics can make an individual addicted on what he has started in his diet regimen. Most of the time a person can no longer control the binge and spurge cycle that and led a person to be underweight and or even obese. However, most bulimics appear to be normal and have a normal body weight. Most of the time, the process in which they do their dieting is kept to themselves because most bulimics are shameful of their activities of bingeing and purging.

There are side effects an individual may suffer from for being bulimic especially for women that are actively in this process of dieting. An irregular menstrual cycle may occur to some women and the decrease of sexual interest may be experienced. Most bulimics have disturbing behavior on whatever things they would like to do. There are instances where bulimics have tendencies to be drug addicts and alcoholic. Some of which have records of shoplifting and other cases that are associated in such acts.

There are some different approaches on how to treat these forms of disorders. These ways may help bring back the proper eating and correct way to have a balanced diet. A well-known stage for bulimics could return the right eating pattern by not practicing the activity of bingeing and purging. They are able to control the incorrect dieting behavior on the diet regimen.

A consultative approach that would be advisable to those bulimics and anorexic is the therapy program. Many of the patients have been found to cooperate well and let themselves to be educated in psycho educational programs that will give them the information on the illness.

Could Those Creepy-Crawly Nighttime Leg Sensations Be A Treatable Medical Condition? One Woman’s Search For Relief

Could Those Creepy-Crawly Nighttime Leg Sensations Be A Treatable Medical Condition? One Woman’s Search For Relief

For more than 10 years, Beth McFadden, a 44-year- old mother of three, lived with strange leg sensations that were not only difficult to describe, but were also uncomfortable and disruptive.

“At night, I would be lying in bed, just on the verge of going to sleep, and I would get these feelings in my legs that I needed to make go away. It was a tingling sensation-my legs would feel like something was crawling deep inside them. I felt like I had to move my legs and then would start tossing and turning. Sometimes, I had to get out of bed and walk to relieve the feelings. This would usually go on for quite some time, preventing me from falling asleep.”

Beth knew that what she was experiencing wasn’t normal, so she started talking to others about her symptoms. At the time, her doctors did not know how to help her. Beth even thought the symptoms might be related to her diet or exercise habits.

“I was frustrated. Night after night, I would feel the same creepy-crawly sensations in my legs, and getting up to relieve the feelings would keep me from falling asleep. Sometimes, I would get these sensations during the day if I was sitting for a long time: I couldn’t really sit and read, watch TV, go to the movies. Travel became difficult because I couldn’t sit for long periods of time on airplanes or in the car.”

Recently, Beth saw an article about Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) in a local newspaper. It described RLS as a common and disruptive neurological condition that is characterized by a compelling urge to move the legs and by uncomfortable or sometimes painful sensations in the legs. These sensations are frequently described as creeping-crawling, tingling, pulling or tightening in the legs.

Beth wondered if this could be the same condition she had lived with for all these years.

She brought the article to her doctor to help her describe what she was experiencing. After an examination, Beth’s physician diagnosed her with RLS, a recognized-and now treatable-medical condition.

“I’m relieved to know that what I’ve been experiencing is a recognized medical condition. For me, my RLS diagnosis was an important step forward in my quest for relief from the disruptive creepy-crawly feelings that I had lived with for so long.”

In May 2005, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Requip?(ropinirole HCl) Tablets for the treatment of moderate-to-severe primary RLS, making Requip the first and only treatment for RLS of any type or severity.

In a recently published study in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, researchers found that patients taking Requip reported significant improvement in RLS symptoms when compared with placebo, and onset of symptom improvement was observed after two nights of treatment.

Important Safety Information About Requip?
Prescription Requip Tablets are not for everyone. Requip may cause you to fall asleep or feel very sleepy while doing normal activities such as driving; or to faint or feel dizzy, nauseated or sweaty when you stand up from sitting or lying down. If you experience these problems, talk with your doctor. Tell your doctor if you drink alcohol or are taking other medicines that make you drowsy. Side effects include nausea, drowsiness, vomiting and dizziness. Most patients were not bothered enough to stop taking Requip.

Requip should be taken once daily one to three hours before bedtime.

In the study published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings and entitled “Therapy with Ropinirole, Efficacy And Tolerability in Restless Legs Syndrome” (TREAT RLS US), the most common adverse events reported in the ropinirole group (n=187) versus placebo (n=193) were nausea (43 percent versus 8 percent), headache (17 percent versus 19 percent), somnolence (13 percent versus 7 percent) and nasopharyngitis (11 percent versus 12 percent). The withdrawal rate due to adverse events was similar between the two groups (ropinirole 3 percent versus placebo 4 percent).

Emergency Inguinal Hernia Surgery vs. Elective Inguinal Hernia Surgery

Inguinal hernia is a very common disorder, affecting millions of people in the United States alone. Considered to be a surgical disease, inguinal hernia accounts for thousands of annual operations worldwide.

Although inguinal hernia can occur in both sexes, the disorder predominantly affects men. Also, this type of hernia has the highest incidence in the elderly, people who frequently sustain physical effort and smokers. Inguinal hernia usually occurs on the background of a weak lower abdominal wall, allowing the internal soft tissues to pierce through it. The symptoms of inguinal hernia are: abdominal pain and discomfort (which intensify with intense physical effort or sudden moves), abdominal bloating and nausea. Some people with inguinal hernia are asymptomatic, rendering the process of diagnosing the disorder a lot more difficult.

There are many factors that can lead to the development of inguinal hernia, such as birth defects, internal disorders or acquired weaknesses of the abdominal wall. In the recent past, the majority of patients who were diagnosed with inguinal hernia were suggested to have their disorder surgically corrected as soon as possible. However, nowadays there are many debates over the necessity of surgical intervention when dealing with patients diagnosed with inguinal hernia. Although the surgery for inguinal hernia is a simple procedure, most patients experience a post-operative recurrence of the disorder. Hence, in many cases the surgical treatment for inguinal hernia only provides temporary relief, and most patients who suffer surgical hernia repair are later hospitalized due to complications.

Physicians have begun to doubt the efficiency of most surgical treatments for inguinal hernia and nowadays they only recommend surgical interventions to patients with complicated forms of the disorder. The majority of patients diagnosed with uncomplicated inguinal hernia nowadays have the possibility to decide whether they will have their hernia surgically repaired or not and in many cases, the best option for patients is to delay surgery until it is absolutely required. Statistics reveal that the patients who have their inguinal hernia surgically corrected can in time experience a relapse of the disorder and they are actually more exposed to developing complications than the patients who delay their surgery.

In many cases, the factors that lead to the recurrence of inguinal hernia in patients who suffer surgery are related to native predispositions. It seems that most patients who experience a post-operative recurrence of their inguinal hernia have a weak abdominal wall or other internal physiological abnormalities. The categories exposed to the highest risk of relapse are: people with native defects of the internal organs (gastrointestinal problems), people with physiological abnormalities of the abdominal wall and people whose careers involve intense physical activities. Patients who belong to these categories are advised to delay their inguinal hernia surgery for as long as possible, in order to prevent a recurrence or even an aggravation of the disorder.
